Visiting the Zoo in the snow! (From February 17. 2010)

So, in the middle of all the snow, we went to the Philly Zoo. I was really interested to see what the outdoor animals were doing in all the zoo.

Here are some pictures from then.

Arriving to the Zoo:

Aminah next to the Elephant Seal Marker:

I guess kangaroos do not like snow:

I guess old Heritage French Donkeys don't like snow either:

We have Siberian Tigers at the Philly Zoo. Three cubs (2 boys and one girl, I believe) and one mama. I just knew THEY'D be out. I love them in general, and was so excited to see them. We get there and:

a bunch of zoo keepers fixing a tree. BUMMER!
So we wander off to see the other big cats.

Here's a snow leopard in it's walkway cage:

The Puma, interested in Aminah (he or she, stayed close most of the time. S/he kept pacing back and forth, and looked interested in playing with Aminah. It was very exciting!)

Here the rest of the Pumas are up high, resting.

Here is the jaguar, laying on its heated rock (since Jaguars are not from snowy climates, they give it a heated rock to keep it happy and outside during colder months.)

Then we hear that the tigers are out! So we head back there and YAY! Playful tigers in the SNOW!
